a very FRESH look on love story videos

As I was satisfying my typical daily dose of Weddingbee I came across a post by the wonderful Mrs. Meatball. Her and her husband did a remake of the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" theme song for their love story video. I have seen other love story videos with just voice overs of the couple-to-be talking about how they met...but never have I come across such a unique and awesome love story video as this...just watch!

Fresh Hubby of LA from Digital Princess Productions on Vimeo.

What a seriously awesome couple. How cute are they? My question now is...how would you inject some gator-love-ness into a love story video?

Cake Toppers with Character

One day while trying to find something to satisfy my need for Gator Brideness I typed "gator bride" into Google images to see what would come up. After rummaging through several pages of images I came across a super cute image of two wood carved gators, one with a top hat and the other with a veil made by bunnywithatoolbelt over at Etsy.

They were the cutest Gator themed cake toppers I had ever seen. Only one problem arose....Mr. Gator isn't actually a gator..ohhh the HORROR!!!! In fact Mr. Gator is Mr. Knight. My fiance graduated from the University of Central Florida (where the mascot is a Knight). He simply could not have himself personified as a gator atop our scrumptious wedding cake...so off I was to message bunnywithatoolbelt to see what she could come up with..and boy was I impressed...

She sent over an initial sketch for approval

And..Wa-Lah our beautiful and character-ific cake toppers!!! Don't you just love Miss. Gator's mini veil?

I can't wait till these cute little toppers stand tall and proud (and did I mention cute?) on our wedding cake. Hillary at bunnywithatoolbelt was super easy to work with and did an amazing job. Be sure to check out her Etsy shop here for more handmade wedding cake toppers.

Just another unique and super fun way to incorporate gator lovin' into your wedding!

A Very GATOR Engagement Shoot

When trying to come up with the perfect place to have our long awaited* engagement shoot (*more on the "long awaited-ness" later), my fiance and I racked our brains for a location that would be meaningful for both of us. We figured we could always do the 'typical' engagement shoot...you know...shoots involving train tracks, beaches, or downtown buildings. Then we thought...hey why not the University of Florida Campus!?

Both of our father's are alumni (and so am I!) of the University of Florida. So Mr. Gator (well I should call him Mr. Knight given his alma mater) and I practically grew up around the Florida Gators. What a perfect place. I mean...it is the decade of the Gator, am I right?

So on we searched for the perfect photographers. After searching for months we found the very talented Ben and Amy Starks of Starks Photography. They were seriously awesome to work with and did an awesome job (if I do say so myself). But better to show you then to just talk about how awesome they are...

One of my favorites. The stadium was just about empty (thanks to me scheduling the shoot over Spring Break).

This one is my top fav from the whole shoot. The picture was taken on top of one of the concrete tables in Turlington Plaza (for those who know the area).

Both of these were taken over by the Baughman Center on Campus. A beautiful place to get married. I'll save that for another post! :-)

Like I said...awesome photographers or what! I truly think the campus was a beautiful and sentimental backdrop for our engagement shoot. We are planning on incorporating these pictures into our wedding day next May. I have already started work on our huge DIY wedding. Am I going too far with all my little projects? Probably...but I'm loving every minute of it!
